WEDDING IN ALMIRAL DE LA FONT

Ellie and Scott decided to celebrate their wedding in Almiral de la Font because they spent the first two years of their relationship based in a nearby marina.

As I wanted you know more about their wedding in Almiral de la Font I asked Ellie some questions.

Tell me a little bit about yourselves and how did you meet?

Scott is originally from New Zealand and I am from the UK. we met 8 years ago at a maritime training school in the UK We have been fortunate enough to have spent the last 8 years travelling the world together, living and working on Superyachts, We have been lucky enough to visit some of the most beautiful places on earth.

What kind of wedding did you have and how did you get inspired?

We had a 4 day wedding with events leading up to and post wedding. The vision for our wedding day was classic & glamourous, with a gorgeous pop of colour from our flowers to complement the colours running up the side of the villa. It wasn’t a traditional wedding in the sense of the word, we made sure everything was very personal to us as a couple. I spent a lot of time on Pinterest at the start but ultimately I let the suppliers do their jobs and wow my vision really came to life.

Where was your wedding and why did you chose this venue?

We choose to celebrate our wedding in Almiral de la Font, cerca de Sitges en España. This area is very special to us as we spent the first 2 years of our relationship based in a nearby marina We really wanted to spend this very special time with our friends and loved ones so finding a venue that could accommodate so many people was key, Almiral ticked all of our boxes as its such a beautiful venue We had 24 of our favourite people to stay for three nights in the villa, it was magical.

¿Which were the main challenges during the wedding planning process?

We started planning in 2020 for a 2021 wedding, which we postponed due to Covid as there were many restrictions, especially for our New Zealand friends and family. Another challenge was dealing with our suppliers who were based in Spain and spoke mostly Spanish, our lovely wedding planner was able to take this stress away from us.

Lets talk about outfits? How did you say yes to the suit and dress?

Scott found his suit in New Zealand which was a very special touch on the day, my dress was from Australian designer Made With Love and my bridesmaids also wore a New Zealand designer, Leave Her Wilder I found my dress during Covid which was quite stressful as I was on a tight timeline to get back to work, I chose a timeless, elegant dress that suited our venue and my style.

Can you share the most important songs that played at your wedding?

My favourite song was September by Earth, Wind & Fire this song was playing as we walked into our wedding dinner. I’ll never forget everyone’s napkins were waving in the air, people were dancing and just seeing all of our guests happy faces.

Which vendors did you hire and why did you chose them?

We chose the wonderful F2Studio who complemented our videographers Anker Prod so perfectly and captured the day in a way I would have never imagined. Great food and drink is so important to us as a couple so our catering was by the delicious Moncho s My hair was by Susana & makeup was the beautiful Wedding Planner was Barcelona Brid es and the most amazing blooms by Best Day Ever.

Please highlight the best or more emotive moments of your wedding day?

Before our ceremony I spent time with my Dad and gave him an embroidered handkerchief, it was very emotional and made the day even more special and of course, I will never forget walking down the aisle to Scott.

If you could give a piece of advice to a couple who are starting to plan their wedding what would it be?

Don’t stress, forget all of the outside noise, spend time talking together about how you want your day to be, make sure it is personal to you and that the important decisions are in the direction you want to go.
